Believe it or not, but this is my first China Glaze Nail Polish.
I am never really big on nail polish as much as I am with makeup, but then I realize that a nicely manicure make a whole difference in the world. Since then, I make it a habit to change my polish when I notice that my nails are growing. I don't even wait til they chip off because I just don't want busted looking nails.
I dropped by Sally's today to buy some nail polish remover. And, since I was already there, I figured to at least try one China Glaze nail polish, so I picked up a purple shade, VIII.
Right when I got home, I quickly removed my nail polish, and I must say that China Glaze equals LOVE!
China Glaze made it super easy for me to apply my nail polish. I practically fail in that area especially when I do it in my dominant hand (right). The nail polish has a very thin consistency, but it applies evenly. It took me two to three coats to get the my desired shade. I loved how this nail polish didn't streak and just gave me a smooth application.
I also have a habit to putting way too much nail polish on my nails that after I'm done, my nails would end up looking fake because I slathered it in too thick. Not the case with this nail polish. My nails just looked like I got them done in a salon. And the brush head is perfect that it was easier for me just to put nail polish on my nails rather than making a whole mess with it.
I love darker nail polish on my hands because they don't make my hands look like they're "dirty". And it's just vampy. The purple shade itself is the purple that I've been looking for in a purple nail polish. It's almost black, but not quite because of its purple tinge.
China Glaze nail polishes dries almost instantly. I don't have to worry about ruining my perfectly good nail polish because of all sorts of nicks or marks because I accidentally swung my hand somewhere and the nail polish hasn't dried yet (the horror!).
YAY! Congrats on popping your CG cherry! Trust me, it's gonna become an addiction...FAST! I also love Blue Sparrow, Shower Together, and Thataway.
ReplyDeleteI gotta try China Glaze, but nowadays I'm so lazy with any nail polish for that matter, haha.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I just fell in love with China glaze too. I actually just made a post about it and it's funny cuz I was eye-ing this color also. It's just that I grabbed 2 other purples (spontaneous and coconut kiss) that I decided to wait till my next trip to Sally's to get it. And yeah, China glaze will become an addiction. haha
ReplyDeleteI love CG, I wear it all the time. in fact I have it on right now in Paint the Town Red. VIII is one of my faves, I wish it were a tad lighter so it would be clear that it's purple and not black. But I still LUVS it.
ReplyDeletesince ur right handed (like me), here's a tip i learned (if u didn't already know it.. haha!)
ReplyDeleteapply polish on your right hand first (using your left hand, of course) starting with the pinky finger working your way to the thumb. then, apply to your left hand in the same way. try to apply the polish in no more than 4 swipes so you don't end up over-doing it, and if it's still not enough, you can always add another coat the same way. hope that helps!
I got my 1st China Glaze too! Yay for us! lol! I got it the other day :p I got "Evening Seduction" Its a cute dark purple. Almost like an eggplant purple :D
ReplyDeleteNail polish is the same as everything else -- practice makes perfect! I decided to save money by doing my own nails 2 years ago, and I got soo much better at applying with my left hand! It just takes time (:
ReplyDeleteBut CG colors are really pretty, and the consistency is great. I'm glad you had a positive experience with them!
no streaking is gooood
ReplyDeletei gotta buy me some china glaze!
I have tried China Glaze in the past, and I really like it. :) Great color of winter by the way ;)

I wish I would have seen this when I was looking for a dark nail polish for my work Christmas party. All the dark polishes I found looked a little too witch like.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that nail polish looks pretty! I love darker colours on my nails as well. I haven't tried China Glaze either so maybe I should try this shade, hehe. Thanks for sharing!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have that same shade and I also love it! I'm with you on putting too much polish as I'm still a newbie when it comes to doing my own manicures.
ReplyDeleteI love that color! I've really been into purples lately!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to try China glaze but thanks for swatching the polish. It sucks when bloggers review a polish but don't swatch it. I need to see how it looks on the nails before I actually go out and take their advice & buy it. so THANKS!!!!
