Final few hours until Cyber Monday is officially over (see my Cyber Monday post with deals and picks here)! I'm still trying to scour online for some great gifts for my loved ones for Christmas. I'm doing it differently this year by not doing my shopping last minute. And I'm proud to report that I've made some progress and have checked-off some names on my list. Sometimes the struggle can be real when shopping for someone else, so I'll be starting a gift guide series here to give you some ideas for the holiday season.
Speaking of shopping, I finally posted my Winter + Black Friday haul on my Youtube channel. These are just some of the things that I picked out for myself since some of the deals were too hard to pass up on. I can't wait to style them in my upcoming outfit posts!
Happy Monday... or shall I say, Happy Cyber Monday! After the craziness of Black Friday shopping, we're now on to Cyber Monday! If you didn't get to finish your holiday shopping for gifts or holiday outfits over the weekend, you can still get it done today at the comfort of your own home, or during your lunch break at work. I've rounded up some of my favorite retailers with Cyber Monday sales that are happening on right now online.
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone (to those who celebrate) had a nice dinner with their loved ones and didn't wait in line outside of a certain store to shop the sales. It's crazy how some spend Thanksgiving camping out of a store instead of just relaxing and spending time with our family when shopping online is just as good. Who doesn't like shopping in their PJs?
I've compiled a list of the Black Friday sales happening right now from my favorite brands and retailers that you can easily shop at the comfort of your home (or bed). No need to battle the crowds in the mall, or even worse, the parking lot, to buy the things you want or to get your holiday shopping for your loved ones. I've also included some of my picks for some retailers (and will be updating on what I ended up buying and my picks).
I recently teamed up with Target to bring you some ideas on how I'll be layering for this holiday season! The air is getting cooler, so it's time to bundle up and snuggle. Sometimes having too many layers can make you look bulkier, but here are some outfit inspirations that are both cozy and cute at the same time. You can easily wear these outfit ideas for the upcoming holidays, whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Hanukkah.
Sometimes spending the holidays with family means lounging around and relaxing in each other's company. It could also mean spending some time outside either ice skating or the park. This outfit is perfect whether you're sitting by the fireplace enjoying a meal with your loved ones, or taking a stroll and admiring the holiday decorations. It's also a bonus that this tunic is very forgiving when it comes to the holiday feast aftermath.

This v-neck sweater has been easily my favorite lately. I picked it up in an x-small, and fit is still a bit loose which I really liked because it looks much more relaxed. I love the slightly deep v-neck and the color of the sweater. Sadly, this color is not available online, but it does come in two other colors (and it's on sale for $9.99). The v-neck is not too deep and it's the perfect neckline for layer your necklaces. I'm also thinking about picking up another v-neck rib-knit sweater (similar to what I'm wearing right now) just to have for winter. It seems like this will be my lazy winter uniform this year.
I've been really into neutral palettes lately, and one of my favorite combinations right now is anything cream/tan and black. It's my go-to combination when I'm in a hurry and I just need to get dressed. I really like how the texture of this sweater pairs up nicely with these coated Paige Denim skinnies, which are also my favorite pair of pants right now. You might have noticed that I'm wearing these pants again since I just featured them in my last post. And because I ended up loving these, I picked another pair up of Paige Denim in grey and another coated moto-style skinny jeans recently.
Anyway, in a non-outfit matter, I'm in the process (again, I feel like it never ends) of cleaning out my room before the year-ends. I want to only keep what I need and will be using right now and toss what I haven't touched. My problem is that I tend to hold on to things. You know just in case.
However, ever since I picked up Do Less in the beginning of the year, I've had this itch of simplifying my life a little bit more. After I finished reading that book, I picked up, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, a few months later in the hopes of getting started with organizing and tidying up my place. Well, I'd like to report that I haven't started on the book, and that my closet is still cluttered. I'm making it my goal right now is to at least read a few chapters this Thanksgiving break. Hopefully by then, I'll be able to list some things on Poshmark so that my unused items can find a new and loving home.
Please share if you have any organization or decluttering techniques on the comments below.
Prior to leaving for New York last month, I needed to shop for some fall wardrobe items for the cooler East coast weather. I was excited for the change of weather since Los Angeles has been late on the fall memo. I needed something warm to bundle-up in and a carry-on bag that I could use while traveling and while I'm out and about the city.
I took a quick trip to my local Nordstrom Rack to check out what they have, and found more than what I needed. I was really surprised and excited to have found this Kate Spade tote marked down to 63% off its retail price. It was the perfect carry-on bag for my trip. It fit my laptop, dslr camera, and everything else that I needed in my carry-on.
Since I realized that the majority of the pants that I currently own right now are distressed (aka has holes in them), I needed a pair to bring with me that would keep me warm. I browsed around for the other items that I needed, and found these Paige Denim coated skinny jeans. They easily became my favorite after trying them on and realizing how they fit me like a glove. It can be a bit of a challenge sometimes finding a good pair of jeans when you're petite. These pants were the perfect fit on my waist and the length. They were also comfortable enough to wear during my five hour flight to New York. I decided to pick-up another pair of Paige Denim jeans in grey to bring for my trip.
As I was about to check-out and leave the store, this cardigan caught my eye. The print definitely drew me in, but it won me over when I realized that it's basically a hybrid between a cardigan and a blanket scarf. It's perfect to layer underneath a coat or to snuggle-in during a long flight. I also love how this added some interest in an all black outfit. It’s always also a bonus when you receive compliments on your outfit!

Here's the last look from my latest lookbook video. If you missed the first blog posts on the first two outfits you can find click here and here to read all about it.
This is probably my favorite outfit out of all three of them. It's probably because I've been looking for new fall boots and I'm completely obsessed with these boots that I've been wearing them every chance that I get.
And, I know I didn't have the sunglasses in the video (since we shot the video later in the day), but I really love my new Karen Walker Number One sunglasses. This pair has been on my wishlist for a quite some time now, but I recently just bought them a month ago when Shopbop had their friends and family sale. I love how the glasses frames my face, and it doesn't touch my cheek. The frames are also lightweight, yet sturdy. I love the classic look and feel of it that it'll be probably one of the glasses that I'll be wearing for a very long time. They're easily my new favorite pair now.
I've been fighting off this cold or flu or whatever I caught last week. I've been laying like a blob and being miserable these past few days. It's been a real struggle haha. I'm just glad that I'm feeling a wee bit better now.
Here's look number two from my recent Fall Lookbook video. If you haven't seen it yet, I've put together three different looks with three different suede pieces from my closet. I posted the first look last week here.
I always get so excited when I can pull something old from my closet and wear it again. It's sort of a validation that I can shop for pieces that will be on rotation for years. I've had this jacket for a few years now... ever since my hair was still long (see post here)! I'm all about trying to maximize the wear of my clothes, so when I spotted this moto jacket, I knew it would always be a closet staple for me. The color was a nice change to my usual black or olive green jackets.
Having a suede jacket in your closet is like having a sister for your favorite leather jacket. Suede just adds a different texture and feel to any outfit. It feel rich and it's just soft to touch. Below are some of my picks that I'm currently lusting over.
It's finally cold enough for me to wear my coats and jackets! Per usual, LA was tardy to the party, but better late than never. It was odd that just a week ago that we were still experiencing hot summer weather. Once Halloween was over, the temperature dipped down to 50's. It went from 90's to 50's... real quick.
Last night, I posted my Suede Babe Fall Lookbook on my Youtube channel (the video is also embedded below after the jump for your viewing pleasure). This is the first look from the lookbook video. I wore a similar look to my friend's, Heart, SK-II event in New York. Since it was a bit more nippy in the east coast, I opted for some knee high socks to keep the legs warm.
Here's the third and final look from my Summer to Fall Lookbook video (here are the first and second outfits in case you missed it). This look is a little more on the dressier side. But just because it got a little bit cooler, doesn't mean you can't wear your crochet top anymore. It's all about just layering. I really like pairing my crochet tops with high waisted anything. Even better if the clothing item you're pairing it with is made out of faux leather for extra warmth.
